If you're like most Americans and suffer from chronic joint, muscle, and other types of pain that your normal doctors have no answer for then your body may be out of alignment.
If you've had MRIs, CT Scans, X-Rays, and a variety of other tests done and your doctors say there is nothing wrong with you, yet, you experience pain, numbness, tingling, stiffness, your body might be crying for a realignment. What happens over time from work and other stresses in your life is your body begins to unalign itself overtime to compensate for repetitive motions or lack of motion and if you never take the time to do stretches and let your body relax back into its natural composure these changes can start to have a permanent affect on your musculoskeletal and neuromusculoskeletal systems until the point where you may need surgery to correct it. In some cases these conditions cannot be corrected even by surgery. Chiropractors are in the art of doing preventative maintenance on your body so that you won't need surgery. A Chiropractor can identify problems and conditions early on so that they don't turn into severe spinal or skeletal disorders that will start to limit your function, range of motion, and/or cause you lots of pain and stress. They deal directly with vertebral subluxation which is a generic term they use to identify a myriad of symptoms due to misalignment or a dysfunctional spinal segment.   Why doesn't everyone go to the chiropractor then? Here are some common reasoning behind why people don't end up at the chiropractor. It hurts The adjustments you receive at the chiropractor are oftentimes nothing more than similar to cracking a knuckle. There is virtually no pain involved when these adjustments are performed by a real chiropractor. My doctor has never referred me to a Chiropractor This is a very common reason people don't see a Chiropractor. Because Chiropractic care is a form of natural medicine it is unlikely most medicinal doctors will refer you to a chiropractor because most believe that you can solve anything with drugs and surgery. The health industry cares about making money and if they start to lose business to natural remedies that don't require expensive invasive surgeries or an array of drugs then the pharmaceutical companies and other medicinal organizations may be hurt by this move. My insurance won't cover it or its too expensive What is wrong with that statement? If you want to talk about expensive wait until you have to go through surgery to correct a problem you could have prevented and have to miss out on work and then some. Most chiropractors offer discounts to cash customers and a visit can be as cheap as $30-$70, which isn't bad if you can avoid surgery.
How do I find a good chiropractor? The best way to find a good chiropractor is to interview them on the phone. Tell them about your conditions and inquire as to what he would do to treat it and try to get a feel for whether or not he really cares about you as his patient. If he refuses to take a call or schedule a time to talk to you then move on to the next chiropractor in the list. Most of them will recommend you come in for an evaluation and oftentimes will discount your first visit. Ensure you express all of your concerns to the chiropractor to ensure that you are receiving the best possible treatment available. Where to find a Chiropractor in Chicago, IL
